The Departments of Physics and Chemistry are seeking to appoint a Student Programmes Officer to continue to oversee the Faculty’s new single student office model for managing student administration in departments.

In this role, you will be a driving member of the Professional Services team which is contributing to the strategic direction of both of the Departments. This exciting new opportunity would be suitable for applicants who have experience of working in a busy, thriving department within the Higher Education sector.

This is an indefinite role starting on 1st February 2022. You will support both the Department of Physics (circa 1000 undergraduate and postgraduate students) and the Department of Chemistry (circa 130 students).

You will be asked to continue the following objectives which were implemented by the current role holder:

You should be an experienced administrator, have excellent organisational, IT and interpersonal skills; be able to juggle a busy workload, and have an enthusiasm for the role. You will lead teams that are responsible for providing a high-level administrative service that supports all aspects of teaching and study programmes offered in the Departments of Physics and Chemistry. You will also be responsible for the development and line management of a team of Teaching and PGR Coordinators. These varied and challenging roles offer wide scope for personal and professional development.
