U21 Network Support Officer

Universitas 21

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £27,924 to £34,304 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 12th January 2022
Closes: 6th February 2022

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £27,924 to £30,497 (dependent on experience), with potential progression once in post to £34,304 a year.

Universitas 21 (U21) is a global network of world leading, research-intensive universities. Our member-led initiatives and programmes are designed to inform and assist the development of our staff and students and empower U21 universities to collaborate and exchange knowledge.

As an organisation, we are offering a broader range of activity than ever before to a wider range of stakeholders, across all our areas of focus – Education, Research and Student Experience. We are therefore seeking a talented individual who can provide comprehensive administrative support across a team and personally support the development of initiatives across our network.

This is a new role that you can make your own through the development and implementation of efficient systems and processes, all of which are central to the success of the network and the delivery of our global programmes and activities. As the first point of contact for the network, it is critical that you are confident communicating with individuals at all levels and are committed to the provision of exceptional customer service to all our members and contacts.

On a day-to-day basis you will be able to prioritise a range of tasks, manage the administration of the organisation, support team members and their initiatives as well as develop your own projects. You will have significant experience of offering administrative support for complex events and will be comfortable processing data and managing content for U21’s communications and online presence.

We will offer you a dynamic and non-bureaucratic working environment, the same benefits as a University employee, a high performing, cohesive team, and the opportunity to work flexibly, including an office located on the University of Birmingham’s gorgeous Edgbaston campus. We are a small and agile team, and this role will be managed accordingly. This role will report into the Educational Innovation Manager but will be expected to work across the team in a matrix management structure and will also work closely with U21’s Provost, based in New Zealand, on a day-to-day basis.

The post closes at midnight on 6th February 2022 and we would love to talk to anyone who thinks that they would excel in this role. Please contact Frankie Ring, Educational Innovation and Projects Manager, via frankie.ring@universitas21.com if you have any questions or would like to arrange a chat.

All applicants must complete the application form below – applications with only a CV and covering letter will not be considered. First interviews will be on the 14th February and final interviews will take place during the week commencing 21st February in the evening or early morning to accommodate an international panel (Precise dates and times TBC).
