You will support the core laboratory support within the research department(s) within the Institute. You will be initially assigned to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. You will be expected to help out in other departments when required or instructed by the Technical Supervisor/Technical Manager.
Your primary role function will be core laboratory support including housekeeping, health and safety, maintenance of equipment, training of researchers and students on equipment and more, within each building/sites.
Occasionally, you may be required to support other research and teaching departments within the institute, so a flexible approach to work is essential. There may be opportunities to assist with research projects but this will be limited.
The role supports a large volume of varied activities within the Institute of Systems, Molecular, and Integrative Biology. The newly formed Institute serves a wide range of research groups and teaching across several sites on the University central campus.
You must have the knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the biological subject areas (i.e. Biological sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology) and recent experience in a similar field or position.
