The role
The University of Bristol’s School of Arts seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Digital Theatre and Performance-Making commencing 1st September 2022.
What will you be doing?
You will contribute to the School’s growing digital arts initiative in the Department of Theatre by enhancing and developing digital teaching on the current BA and contribute towards the new MA Immersive Arts (Virtual and Augmented Reality), as well as other areas. We are especially interested in applicants who have a research and teaching specialism in two or more of following areas related to theatre and performance: digital and online performance; augmented reality, virtual reality, immersive practices; immersive sound; interactive media; digital storytelling; gaming; motion capture; digital projection; digital design; other areas connected with digital performance. Knowledge and experience of the cultural industries is desirable, especially relating to contemporary immersive and/or digital theatre practices. You will have excellent teaching skills developed through experience of HE teaching on undergraduate and/or postgraduate taught programmes and in a range of environments such as workshops, studios, seminars and lectures, and will be able to contribute to the Theatre Department’s undergraduate provision more widely.

You will have completed a PhD, and have high quality scholarly publications and perhaps impact outputs commensurate with your time in academia. You will have successfully submitted grant applications or if you are just beginning your career, you will have demonstrable and implementable plans for future research and grant capture.
