Reuben College is a new graduate Society at Oxford University. We are seeking to recruit an Academic Administrator to join the team.
The post holder will have an integral role in ensuring the smooth running of academic matters and the provision of administrative and events support within the College. This will include managing staff, developing and implementing College procedures and policies, developing academic strategy and the College’s learning environment (welfare, disability adjustment, etc.), and supporting the College’s c.600+ postgraduate students (in steady state). The post holder will need to consider and analyse in quick time extensive data from different perspectives (as may apply to complex issues and projects) and be able to respond thoughtfully and collaboratively in difficult situations. They are expected to develop expert knowledge of College and University systems and procedures relating to the tasks listed below, to make effective decisions and to build key relationships within and beyond the College.
The post is an inherently evolving one, combining provision of ‘core’ services, the need for rapid response to particular situations, and the development of new initiatives. As such, the College seeks a post holder who is flexible and responsive, as well as empathetic and dedicated. Some out-of-hours work will be required in supporting college events and at busy times of year.
The post will be varied and challenging, especially as the College prepares for the admission of a growing number of students, and associated expansion in staff numbers, and the appointed person will need to be able to handle many different duties simultaneously, whilst making sure routine requirements are dealt with accurately and efficiently.
The closing date for all applications will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday 8th June 2022.
Interviews are expected to be held in person on Friday 24th June 2022.
