This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Design Research Works—a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship Research Associate.
You will contribute to the overall aims of the Design Research Works Fellowship. The primary aims of the Fellowship are gathering evidence about and promoting the use of Design Research approaches in the context of exploring and addressing socio-technical challenges. Within the broader aims of the Fellowship, this role will focus on establishing and running impact-oriented case studies with partner organisations to explore and demonstrate the value of Design Research methods for understanding the impact of generative AI technologies (such as Generative Adversarial Networks). This should be achieved using participatory Design Research methods and be informed by a post-phenomenological view of machine learning. The role will involve close collaboration with the rest of the Design Research Works team as well as developing partnerships with external organisations to demonstrate the value of Design Research.
You will be encouraged to consider their own career development and will be provided reasonable time to incorporate this into these activities into their work pattern.
This is a one-off opportunity to help shape the future of the Design Research discipline in a role that offers room for growth.
You will join us on an indefinite contract however, the role remains contingent on external funding which, at this time is for one year.
We welcome applications from all diversity groups.
