An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oxford Brookes University to join the Access and Outreach team within the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement, as a Schools and Colleges Liaison Assistant. This is an ideal role for someone with strong administrative and communication skills who wants to begin a career in access and outreach.
 
The Directorate is operating a flexible, hybrid mode of working designed to enhance staff wellbeing and promote effective work-life balance.
 
The postholder will support the team in delivering progressive and sustained activities with target schools and colleges to recruit students form under-represented groups in order to meet the university access and participation targets.
 
The responsibilities of the schools and colleges Liaison Assistant include:
  • Maintaining accurate records and database for target school and college contacts
  • Be a first point of contact for schools and colleges, and manage the schools and colleges inbox
  • Building partnerships with schools and colleges through targeted communications, events and information and advice
  • Support the delivery of access and recruitment widening participation projects designed to encourage students to progress to university and apply to Oxford Brookes
  • Collect and interpret data on target schools and colleges
  • Coordinate and schedule direct mail campaigns for schools and colleges, and other external organisations.
You should have:
  • Administration experience including managing databases
  • Experience of organising events, and of working with external organisations and stakeholders
  • An understanding of student recruitment and widening participation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communications  to a variety of audiences.
