The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Ancient Literature (Teaching and Learning focus). You will have a PhD in classics/ancient history, ability to teach ancient Greek and Latin literature and language at all levels, and a strong commitment to the Department.

You will contribute to the administration of the Department and be keen on championing and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.

As a Teaching Associate you will be expected to:

  • deliver innovative teaching and curriculum design
  • provide curriculum leadership within your area
  • contribute positively and proactively to the Department’s teaching culture
  • supervise and examine Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
  • support tutorial groups, developing their knowledge and learning skills
  • take a proactive role in the pastoral support of students, dealing with sensitive issues
  • be responsible for administrative duties

This post will be offered on a fixed-term, part time (29 hours per week) contract, commencing September 2022 until 30th June 2023. Job share arrangements may be considered.
