Location: Bishops Square, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

We are looking for an individual to join the Research Grants Team to provide dedicated pre-award support to academic staff across the University. The post holder will be part of the Research Grants Team in the Research Office and will report to the Head of Research Grants.

Main duties & responsibilities

You will provide operational support to the Head of Research Grants to support academic and research staff to develop and submit high quality research grant applications and to support the University in meeting its research application and award targets. You will be a point of contact for all operational aspects of the grant application process including checking eligibility and funder guidance, advising on timescales, costings, institutional approval and proposal submission.

Skills and experience 

You will have some knowledge and experience of funding application processes and of supporting the development of high-quality bids for submission to a range of external funders. Excellent communication, planning and prioritisation skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications required

Educated with a Degree or equivalent, or significant proven professional work experience in a relevant area to the role. Postgraduate qualification is desirable.
