The University of Cumbria is a member of the Police Education Consortium (PEC), which comprises Middlesex University, Canterbury Christ Church University and The University of Portsmouth. PEC are currently delivering innovative policing programmes encompassing the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) and Detective Degree Holder Entry Programme (DDHEP) to three police forces, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
We are looking to appoint Lecturers to assist in the delivery primarily across the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship. There will however also be an expectation to support the Degree Holder entry pathway at periods of high demand.
As a Lecturer, you will be part of an established high performing team, developing, managing and delivering high quality academic provision through implementation of teaching and learning, widening participation and other strategies in order to contribute to quality learning, opportunities and ultimately student experience. A key aspect of the role is working collaboratively with our force partner agencies and wider colleagues within the police consortium framework.
We welcome applications from candidates with an academic, teaching or policing background.
This role will be nominally located at our London campus. There will be flexibility around working arrangements, including working from home. There will be a requirement for you to regularly travel to Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
We are seeking innovative, creative, high quality researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.
In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days' annual leave plus statutory bank holidays, 25 research and scholarly activity days, support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy/Advance HE accreditation, mentor proviso in the first year of employment and opportunity for career development.
Job shares are welcome.
