About the Role

The Process Improvement Lead will form part of the new Service Improvement Team, providing guidance to senior leads on issues and opportunities and target setting. Along with a Process Improvement Analyst, the Service Improvement Team will be function agnostic, taking a best for organisation approach, with a strong focus on tangible benefits. Highly visible and accessible to all internal university functions & customers the Team will provide an internal service to Queen Mary University of London, working closely with existing staff (subject matter experts). 

The Process Improvement Lead will be a Thought Leader in Process Improvements and provide guidance to senior leads on issues and opportunities & target setting, in addition, it is envisioned this role will work with the Strategic Planning Team, responding to QMUL KPI performance and with the Professional Services Leadership Team (PSLT) and Senior Executive Team on impacts and considerations of further strategic opportunities.

About You

With a relevant degree or MBA, you will be qualified in Process Improvement (LEAN (Black or Green Belt), PMP, ITIL, GRC, BPMN) and experience in process optimisation, operations or business management, with a thorough understanding of the latest process enhancement strategies.

With a strategic and analytical mindset, you will have creative pragmatic thinking and problem-solving abilities and a sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organisational structures. Self-driven and highly motivated, you will be results orientated, operating to drive both hard and soft benefits.

A strong leadership with exceptional people management skills, you will possess the ability and presence to command respect, influence and negotiate, whilst creating a sense of community amongst working parties, clearly demonstrating management and control.

An excellent communicator at all levels, you will have demonstrable experience designing informative and well-structured presentations and workshops, facilitating group sessions, and working with teams to gain crucial input from key contributors. Providing guidance and support to colleagues, whilst developing and maintaining meaningful working relationships at all levels.

The post is based at Department W in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 12 months, with an immediate start. The starting salary will be Grade 7, in the range of £56,678 - £63,351 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
