An opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Employability Team on a fixed-term basis until the end of June 2023 to provide partial secondment cover to the role of Faculty Placements Officer at 0.5 fte with a focus on placement year activity and 1:1 appointments.
This is a great opportunity to join a small team during a period of growth and development, and to make a real contribution towards student employability within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Our goals are to increase student employability and enhance student experience and this role is key to ensure the ongoing success of the FASS Placement Year degree programmes.
The workload will be varied and will require the ability to work effectively with all key stakeholders internal and external to the University, including potential and current students, departmental contacts, colleagues in the central Careers and Employability Service, and external employers/placement hosts.
You should have excellent organisational and administration skills including the ability to multi-task, and the ability to self-motivate and manage your own workload. Strong IT skills are essential, in addition to experience of managing data, exceptional attention to detail, and flexibility to deal with ongoing developments within the placement programme and Employability Team.
This role is being offered as a secondment opportunity until the end of June 2023. We particularly welcome applications from men and members of ethnic minority groups, both of which are under-represented in this area of the University.
