The University of Oxford Development Office is seeking a Development Executive to join its Social Sciences Development team to cover a period of maternity leave. This opportunity comes at an exciting time as we are expanding the team in response to increased donor interest in the world-leading research and teaching being undertaken across the Social Sciences at Oxford.

In this role you will be supporting academic departments and faculty by identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts to support student support and academic posts and research.

Working closely with academic colleagues, you will be able to clearly communicate complex ideas to potential donors align with the University’s strategic goals. You will manage a portfolio of £50,000 – £500,000 gifts raising around £500,000 each year. Using your ability to maintain a large network of relationships, you will spend the majority of your time facilitating new gifts and provide stewardship for long-standing philanthropic relationships.

The successful candidate will be a fundraising professional looking for their next step in their career. You will be able to operate in a large, complex institution with multiple stakeholders and build successful relationships both internally and externally. A team player, the successful candidate will be a good communicator, collaborative and confident.

This role is a fixed-term maternity cover for up to 9 months, from February 2023 to October 2023.
