We wish to appoint a senior clinical academic/consultant based in the Academic Unit of Restorative Dentistry, School of Clinical Dentistry. We may appoint at Professor, Senior Clinical Lecturer (SCL) or Senior Clinical Teacher (SCT) level depending upon the applicant’s research profile, qualifications and experience. This post is best suited to an individual who is a specialist in Restorative Dentistry (with an interest in Periodontics) and on the appropriate specialist list of the General Dental Council.
You will contribute to the delivery of learning, teaching and research or scholarship at both Undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as providing clinical service in the adjacent dental hospital. The STH NHS Foundation Trust will offer an Honorary NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry contract as part of this employment.
All the core and additional criteria that are part of the teaching and research pathway for the three posts are defined in the University’s Academic Career Pathway that consist of the following core responsibilities: High Quality Research Outputs, High Quality Teaching Practice, Leadership in Academic Citizenship and Professional Standing and Wider Engagement.
You will have significant experience and expertise in learning and teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. You will have a strong track record of innovation, development and delivery in L&T and will have experience of curriculum development and leadership. For the position of Professor and SCL, you will have a PhD or equivalent (or be close to award) and a track record of impactful research and high-quality publications. You will be given encouragement and support to develop your research within one of the thriving research groups in the School (https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/dentalschool/research/research-themes)
You will be clinically qualified and will have completed your specialist training and be on the appropriate specialist list of the General Dental Council.
