Fixed Term: December 2022 – September 2024 (SGSSS is currently reapplying for our funding and all fixed term roles will be reviewed once the application process is complete in 2023.)
Full Time: 35 hours a week
The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS) is looking to appoint an experienced studentships coordinator to be responsible for the support and administration of all aspects of Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded studentship competitions, which receive approx. 900 applications annually, and from which approx. 60 studentships are awarded.
The successful candidate will have a passion for higher education, will enjoy planning and organising large scale and competitive funding award processes, and working collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic, and friendly team that thrives on delivering an excellent PGR experience.
You will be the primary contact for prospective students and supervisory teams seeking advice and support with regards to studentship competitions and applications. In conjunction with the academic lead for studentships, you will utilise and interpret ESRC and UKRI policy and regulation to maintain and expand on our competition documentation and guidance.
As well as applicants to our competitions, you will be interacting with a wide range of stakeholders across 16 partner HEIs in Scotland, including institutional administrative leads, academics supervisors, referees, and review panel members.
The SGSSS team is currently working in a hybrid home/office format. This model of working is a trial and may be subject to change. Under current arrangements, the post-holder may work fully on campus or may choose to operate in a hybrid home/on-campus working mode, attending on-campus meetings and events as required.
