Department of Language and Linguistic Science
The Department of Language & Linguistic Science is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Speech Science to contribute to research and teaching from 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is 0.5 FTE.
Role
You will play a full part in the research, teaching, supervision and administration of the Department, with particular responsibility for teaching and supervision related to our MSc in Forensic Speech Science and to our broader agenda in formal aspects of speech science.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
You will have a PhD in Linguistics, Electronics or allied field, and be establishing, or have established, a track record of high-quality research and you will be committed to excellence in teaching and supervision. We particularly welcome applications from scholars whose research and teaching interests essentially involves the technical foundations of speaker comparison in speech science, and who have a scientific focus on properties of the vocal tract and modelling it via morphoacoustic techniques.
The starting date is 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
