We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed research technician to provide essential research support to University of Sheffield researchers.
The Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease exists to produce the doctors, scientists, and knowledge needed to improve human health. To do this, we deliver world-leading, interdisciplinary research and teaching in a supportive and inclusive research environment, where you will be surrounded by world-class scientists with access to superb facilities.
You will coordinate and provide high quality technical support to various clinical trial studies undertaken in the Department, and will be based in the Medical School at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. As a member of the Department’s core Technical Support Team you will be responsible for supporting Departmental laboratory-based research activities, contributing to the Department’s objectives and priorities. More specifically you will coordinate and provide experimental support to our ongoing vaccine clinical trial work, which involves liaising with NHS workers and the Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF), organizing and participating in the processing and storage of human clinical samples as well as managing sample shipments.
To undertake this post you must have existing Hepatitis B immunisation with documented proof of seroconversion.
