About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Manager to provide high level professional support to the ongoing development and implementation of Faculty and Institute research strategies and innovation activities.
About You
The Research Manager will be a key member of the senior administrative team with particular responsibility for effective management of all research-related activities requiring support including the development and implementation of the Institute research and impact strategy.
We are seeking to make an appointment which will play a key role in providing high-level professional advice and support to the ongoing development and implementation of Institute research strategies, enhancing the research environment, facilitating the delivery of strategic research objectives, and ensuring the management and analysis of data as required for internal and external reporting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in supporting research grant administration and/or impact in a higher education institution or research body and experience with advising on or writing research bids. They will also have a good understanding of REF and other research quality measures.
About the Institute
The Institute of Dentistry has been conducting internationally recognised research in oral and dental sciences in Whitechapel for more than a century and is the top-rated UK Dental School for quality of dental research, as assessed in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. It has a long and proud history of providing internationally renowned taught programmes and currently offers 2 undergraduate programmes and 14 postgraduate taught programmes, with a combined cohort of c500 students. In 2014 we opened the first new dental school and hospital in the UK for 40 years, the stunning £78m Royal London Dental Hospital, incorporating some of the most technologically advanced dental facilities in the country.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), indefinite contract. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £39,815 - £46,843 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
