Based across two campuses, Leeds Beckett is a modern, inclusive, professional university with ambition. Based in the vibrant city of Leeds, our vision is to be acknowledged for our commitment to student success, innovation and enterprise, global reach, and strong local impact. We employ around 2,800 staff supporting more than 26,000 students from over 100 countries around the world and contribute an estimated £500 million to a thriving northern economy, every year. With a 190-year history of education and high levels of student satisfaction we are proud of our history and excited about our future.
We are now seeking an experienced human resources professional and manager to lead our employee relations team to deliver excellent, solutions-orientated business partnering. Reporting to the Executive Director of HR and as a member of the HR Senior Leadership Team, you will manage the employee relations agenda to deliver outcomes in support of the university’s strategy and workforce plan. You will be an exemplar business partner to senior managers on key issues and cases and will be the lead management interface with our trade unions, encouraging a partnership approach and ensuring productive relationships.
To apply you must be an effective people leader able to influence culture and behaviours, with a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement. As a senior HR professional, you will have a track record of successfully managing organisational change and complex casework, and be able to bring expert knowledge to advise on employee relations matters, policy development and embedding best practice approaches. With a solutions-orientated approach and the ability to develop innovative and pragmatic outcomes, you will also be able to demonstrate extensive experience of working with trade unions and of developing effective relationships that facilitate open dialogue and the resolution of disputes.
This represents a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on our community and environment at both a strategic and operational level. For an informal conversation about the role please contact Emma Wilkins at Dixon Walter at emma@dixonwalter.co.uk or on 07741 875289.
