Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's student recruitment as well as strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. Duties of the Role
The Head of Global Engagement and Reputation will play a leading role in building on our international reputation, helping to deliver the University of Essex’s World Rankings Action Plan. The post holder will ensure profile and reputation are effectively managed and advance the global reputation interests of the University.
In addition, the Head of Global Engagement and Reputation will be responsible for ensuring that all members of our community understand their role in supporting our global profile and reputation, and they feel well-equipped and motivated to do so.
The post holder will also play a lead role in delivering our targets relating to World University Rankings, working with our internal and external stakeholders to build our international profile and reputation. The post holder will specifically work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that all our work is effectively supporting our global ambition.
Skills and qualifications require
You will have a track record of delivering communications, events and/or stakeholder engagement activities in a large, complex organisation (including demonstrable experience of managing complex and competing priorities, being able to prioritise and manage effectively, and effectively negotiating with large numbers of senior colleagues).
You will also have experience of successfully building productive stakeholder relationships (both directly and through the use of CRM databases) across varied stakeholder communities.
You will be able to demonstrate and evidence an understanding of League Tables or similar (ideally Global University League Tables) and developing and delivering plans intended to manage performance.
Alongside experience of effectively operating at an international level, you will need to demonstrate how you have provided support for senior leaders to be able to represent and advocate internationally.
