This is a key managerial post in the International Office. You will manage the planning and organisation of the International Admissions team and processes, delivering a high-quality international admissions service central to the University of Northampton’s (UON) commitment to transforming lives and inspiring change.
Working closely with colleagues in the International Office and across the University, you will develop, implement and monitor the systems, procedures and processes supporting international admissions, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance with internal and external policy and legislation.
You will manage several international admissions cycles to ensure a smooth and high quality admissions experience for applicants and other key stakeholders. You will ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory procedures such as academic standards, GDPR and UKVI requirements. You will have operational responsibility for the International Admissions Team and their output and line manage two International Admissions Team Leaders, ensuring all staffing and training responsibilities are met.
We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.
You will have experience of planning and managing complex and large-scale systems and processes to deliver efficient and effective outcomes. You will have good interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to communicate effectively to a range of stakeholders. You will be able to work creatively and solve problems, while providing excellent customer service. You will have experience of following internal and external rules and regulations, and maintain consistency and fairness while also driving change. A knowledge of admissions and GDPR processes within higher education is desirable.
The International Relations Office sits within the Marketing and International Relations department. We are responsible for the recruitment and admission of on-campus international students to UON, and for the associated marketing for this objective.
