The Department of History, Politics and War Studies is looking to appoint a permanent Lecturer in Contemporary Conflicts and Warfare. You will contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching, research and course development and the enhancement of academic performance, student attainment and satisfaction.
We invite applications from candidates with teaching and research expertise in contemporary conflict, cyber warfare and intelligence and security. You will play a key role in promoting new perspectives, sources and approaches within our existing and future teaching and will complement and broaden our global coverage of conflict, class, gender, generations, communities, and consumption. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our work towards diversifying and decolonising the curriculum.
You will be committed to the organisation and delivery of the following undergraduate and postgraduate programmes: War Studies; Air, Space and Cyber Power Studies; and International Relations. As a research-active scholar, you will also be working with a well-established, successful, and growing REF unit of assessment, and will have the potential to attract external research funding and supervise postgraduate students.
Please note we are unable to support applicants who require visa sponsorship for this part-time role as it does not meet the minimum salary threshold.
Informal enquiries can be directed to Dr David Hussey, Head of Department of History, Politics and War Studies Email D.P.Hussey@wlv.ac.uk
