Applications are invited for this new and significant leadership post based in the Medical Education Centre at Queens Medical Centre, University of Nottingham.
As Deputy Head of Education and Director of the BMBS Programmes, you will have responsibility for the delivery of the BMBS medicine course, ensuring that it meets the GMC Outcomes for Graduates and delivers an excellent experience for our students. You will be based within our large and enthusiastic medical education team, working collaboratively with a senior leadership team, including the Vice Dean (clinical Affairs) Lincoln, the Director of Quality, Governance and Professional Practice and the Director of Assessments. You will be expected to contribute to the University of Nottingham strategic vision, providing academic leadership, innovation and guidance to a team of educators and administrators in the Medical School and to our partner Local Education Providers (LEPs). You will report to the Dean of Education (Professor Claire Sharpe) and deputise for her when the need arises.
As a clinical academic, it is expected that you will undertake at least two NHS clinical sessions as an Honorary Consultant in one of our local NHS Trusts or in General Practice in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.
The posts to be offered as either Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor (depending on skills and experience).
This is a permanent, full-time post (40 hours per week). Arrangements for job share would be considered.
