About the role: We are seeking a Clinical Professor or Clinical Associate Professor (depending on skills and experience) with an international reputation and track record in paediatric/adolescent rheumatology who can lead a programme of work, and integrate resea rch, teaching and clinical work in paediatric/ adolescent rheumatology. The post holder will hold a substantive contract at UCL, spending the majority of their time as an academic at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH, the Institute), and ~20% of their time on clinical care and clinical research at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). They will lead a major programme of world -class research, play a key role in strengthening and building collaborations between the Inflammation and Rheumatology Section within the Infection, Immunity and Inflammation Department at GOS ICH and the Rheumatology team at GOSH, while also supporting new teaching opportunities in BSc, MSc or similar programmes. GOSH Charity and Arthritis UK have a long-standing and successful partnership supporting paediatric and adolescent rheumatology research at UCL, including joint investment in the Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology and have agreed to fund a generous start-up package to the appo inted individual.

About you: Candidates with CCT in Paediatrics, Paediatric or Adolescent/Adult Rheumatology (or within 6 months at time of interview) or equivalent training and experience (eligible for CESR/Portfolio Pathway) is essential for this role along with experience of leading and directing a research team including supervision of higher degree research masters and doctoral students. National and/or international experience of research in Paediatric or Adolescent Rheumatology or a related field is desirable. It is essential that applicants have experience and track record in translational research.
