About the Role
The Department of English in the School of English and Drama in Queen Mary’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to appoint a permanent part-time (0.5fte) Lecturer in Creative Writing. Joining a team devoted to innovative, experimental practice and teaching, the successful candidate will be a published writer with interests in one or more of these areas: migration, diaspora, race, translation, religious or cultural identity. About You
The successful applicant will hold a PhD in Creative Writing, English or a related field. Alternatively, you may have equivalent professional experience/qualification. You will have an established international profile as practitioner and/or researcher in a field of Creative Writing, whether in prose, poetry, performance, hybrid or alternative modes. Applications from those whose writing and/or research engages with interdisciplinary practice, hybrid forms or writing and the visual arts may be especially welcome. Experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels is an essential requirement, as is an ability to contribute to a range of Creative Writing modules. The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is part-time and permanent with an expected start date of 1 September 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 5, spinal point 35 at £44,931 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
