The School of Health and Sport Sciences at Liverpool Hope University is planning to expand on its rehabilitation/physiotherapy-oriented programmes. Dedication to both teaching and research excellence along with top-class facilities have been central to our success. You will make a full contribution to the School in terms of a demonstrable commitment to teaching, learning, scholarship and research (Lecturer), and associated activities towards supporting a diverse student population, and maximising their potential.
Applications are invited from Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapy (MACP) accredited candidates with a broad clinical knowledge in musculoskeletal physiotherapy along with learning/teaching experience in the field. Holding a current MACP registration is essential for eligibility to apply. You will be expected to lead on the development, validation, accreditation (MACP), coordination, and delivery of a new provision “Advanced MSc Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy” provision and related future programmes in coordination with the Dean of the School. Furthermore, it is expected that you will contribute to the teaching and supervision of students across existing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (BSc Sport Rehabilitation and MSc Sport Medicine, Exercise and Health in particular) and lead the development. You will be involved in the supervision of students including and dissertation projects.
You will also contribute to the running of the School’s on-site Physiotherapy and Sport Rehabilitation Clinic (PSRC) and clinical supervision of students as appropriate. You will require to hold relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (please see Person Specifications) as well as registration with the MACP and related professional bodies (HCPC, CSP). The successful applicant will join a supportive team of academic staff who work well together as a cohesive School. The availability of first-class equipment and facilities supported by dedicated technical staff provides numerous teaching and research opportunities for staff and students. You should have good organisational, inter-personal, and communication skills, a student-centred approach, and have a passion for clinically-oriented and enterprise activities as well as continued professional development. This post would be ideal for practicing Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a passion to work in academia and a sound understanding of relevant education and practice within the context of the UK.
