The University of Westminster is recruiting a Development Officer (Major Gifts) to join its award-winning Development and Alumni Relations Team in the Marketing, Communications & Development department.
This opportunity comes at an exciting time in the University of Westminster’s story, with the Development Team being placed at the epicentre of the institution’s redevelopment of 29 Marylebone Road: The UK’s most inclusive centre for collaborative enterprise and innovation.
The centre will have a particular focus on inclusive enterprise, attracting and developing budding entrepreneurs who come from some of London’s most diverse communities.
This role is responsible for securing philanthropic income from individuals and organisations to support the delivery of a range of projects which improve the student experience and support the local community in which we operate.
The post holder will have a successful track record of developing long-lasting relationships and experience of securing gifts of £1,000 per annum and above from a portfolio of prospects, through face-to-face fundraising and the delivery of fundraising events, to reach philanthropic income targets in line with the University’s strategy.
The post holder will be able to work independently to manage and prioritise their own workload in order to meet competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as the post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships across the University.
Reporting into the Prospect Research & Donor Relations Manager, the successful candidate will also support other Development-related tasks, being able to fit in with a small, but agile, team that prides itself on teamwork.
