We are now recruiting a Lecturer in Tourism and/or Airline Management on our Learning and Teaching/Research/Enterprise or Professional pathways, to support and develop the delivery of Tourism, Hospitality and/or Event Management subject areas within the Tourism and Languages Subject Group.
The Role
This post will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of our wider Tourism Management portfolio whilst supporting our ambitions to develop this particular area of specialism within the undergraduate and postgraduate MSc curricula.
You will have the opportunity to join the Tourism and Languages Subject Group in the School (under the leadership of Professor Lynn Minnaert), an ambitious, growing team consisting of academics who make significant contributions across all strands of endeavour. Your contribution will be in the area of Tourism, Hospitality and/or Event Management and we particularly welcome applicants with related industry experience.
As part of this role, you will be in a position to influence the direction of our diverse and vibrant curriculum going forward and become involved in both module and programme leadership. It is expected that you will contribute to our international deliveries in, for example Hong Kong and Singapore, with the opportunity to contribute to our growing Global Online Portfolio.
You will also be responsible for developing, designing and delivering teaching and student-centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice within your assigned areas of responsibility, using your experience to contribute to the support of our expanding MSc portfolio.
Individual and collaborative research projects will allow you to contribute to the research profile within your School, leading to the production of high-quality research outputs and outcomes. An interest in and some evidence of research outputs in the areas of sustainability, technology and/or data analytics would be of particular interest to the Subject Group.
Ultimately, your valuable input will contribute to the University's objective of growing our academic reputation for research-informed student learning based on industry awareness.
