Department
The Circa Renewable Chemistry Institute (CRCI) has been set up at the University of York’s Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (GCCE) with funding from Circa PLC. The Institute will aim to become an internationally recognised hub for activities relating to renewable chemistry and, in particular, the chemistry of levoglucosenone and its derivative Cyrene TM (a new commercial bio-based solvent).
The Department of Chemistry is one of the largest and most successful departments at York and we are renowned internationally for our research. As a department, we strive to provide a working environment that allows all staff and students to contribute fully, to flourish, and to excel. We are proud of our Athena SWAN Gold Award.
