The School of Health Sciences is looking to appoint a post-doctoral teaching associate in Psychology. The post is tenable immediately for a fixed term period of three years.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an early career psychology academic interested in gaining experience in teaching and pedagogical scholarship as a stepping stone to a future Lectureship application. Successful candidates will split their time equally between supporting the delivery of the BSc Psychology degree (https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/2020/00653/bsc-psychology/) and engaging in relevant scholarship to support the development of the programme.
The teaching component will include supporting (and, where appropriate, leading) the delivery of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes and/or research labs, supervising undergraduate research projects, marking assessments, academic advising, providing constructive feedback to students and administration as appropriate. The specific responsibilities of the person(s) appointed will be agreed in consultation with the teaching team and will reflect our team-teaching philosophy.
The scholarship component will be conducted in collaboration with the BSc leadership team, who will provide line management, mentoring and relevant pedagogical expertise. The purpose of the project is to review the delivery of the BSc programme, which has grown considerably in recent years, and identify ways of further enhancing teaching, learning and the student experience for post-pandemic student cohorts.
Interviews for this post will take place approximately three to four weeks after the closing date.
