Main Duties
The role will focus on Europe, but is not limited to any specific country. As such, the postholder will be required to develop a detailed understanding of the political, economic and legal environment of any country in which a partnership is proposed and must be culturally sensitive with good business acumen. The postholder will also be expected to develop an understanding of the broader context in which International Relations operates, as there may be opportunities to connect our work in Europe to other priority regions over time. The postholder may be required to undertake occasional overseas travel, including weekends and bank holidays. The postholder must be able to operate effectively and autonomously under these circumstances.
Contribute to the delivery of the University’s International Strategic Framework by evaluating opportunities and progressing initiatives for partnership development (both in the UK and in Europe) that will enhance the University’s international profile and realise strategic objectives. This includes the management and promotion of internal pump-priming and travel funds, and facilitating longer-term external funding opportunities to further partnership outcomes.
