Location: Milton Keynes 

Terms: Multiple Fixed Term contracts for 2 years, Full Time posts (part time applications will be considered).

Closing Date: 6 February 2023 - 12:00 midday

The contractual location of this roles is Milton Keynes, however, remote working can be agreed as a local arrangement. Successful candidates will be required to work on site once a month. Regular travel to partner organisations will be a requirement with expenses paid from the contractual location.

The Academic Services unit has around 1,200 staff and sits within the Professional Services Portfolio, under the leadership of the University Secretary. We are responsible for the operational delivery of an outstanding support service to the Open University’s students, wherever they are, and whatever their circumstances.

The role 

As a Manager, Student Policy & Compliance, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Managers to develop, update and implement academic and student policy and regulations, monitoring the external regulatory environment and responding to internal policy decisions and student feedback.

Acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders across the University you will ensure that updated policies and regulations adhere to the framework and standards, are accurate and are published in a timely manner.

Skills and experience 

  • Knowledge of the higher education sector and awareness of relevant government policies
  • Experience of managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders using a collegiate approach
  • Experience of providing secretariat support to groups and/or committees
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to write and present papers and reports clearly and convincingly
