We are seeking a Director of Estates & Facilities Management to lead our Estates & Facilities team in creating an exceptional environment for all students, visitors, and employees.
The role manages a team of staff plus outsourced partners (eg security, cleaning and other contractors) and manages a budget c£10m Opex pa (including rent and rates), c£3.5m Capex pa. Key contracts include cleaning (c£1m), security (c£0.8m), with various supporting services such as M&E and waste.
You will be focussed on 6 key areas of success:
You should have previous campus or centre management experience within in a customer-focussed environment (eg. a shopping centre, hospitality or retail environment) and a background of managing and running teams and contracts for hard and soft services. You will be an excellent communicator, able to speak to your experiences of leading teams to success and you will have the ability to manage and work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders at varying levels.
As the University’s professional lead in all matters relating to the Campus Estate and facilities, the role has a significant budget and a high degree of autonomy. The need to command the confidence of the Executive Team and the Board is critical to the success of the role.
