The role
The main job purpose is working with the Senior Programme Manager – Research and Innovation, to manage delivery of the UKTIN project. This will include running the UKTIN Academic Future Networks Strategy and UKTIN Telecoms R&D Future Capability forum which link academia and industry to form the basis for advice to Governmental bodies in relation to the promotion and growth of the Telecomms Industry within the UK. You will work alongside architecture, engagement, change and strategic colleagues to guide the projects to successful delivery and ensure day to day programme activities align with strategic aims and stakeholder communications.
UKTIN (UK Telecoms Innovation Network) funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), is a new body dedicated to supporting innovative new companies and the wider telecoms ecosystem to access and navigate R&D funding and facilities and create opportunities to collaborate on developing new technologies and driving the development of open networks.
What will you be doing?
You will work with the Senior Programme Manager to support the delivery of the project within agreed limits for time, cost and quality. Your focus will be to help and support the Senior Programme Manager and identify opportunities for effective resource management, highlighting dependencies within the project and ensuring change and engagement activities are suitable and appropriate for the project.
You will support the planning, control, and delivery of a series of Workshops/Meetings between the academic and industrial members of the project team and other external contacts. The outputs of these workshops will be used to inform specific aspects of governmental policy with regards to the UK Telecommunications industry.
In liaison with the Senior Programme Manager you will also work to produce the relevant reports and papers in a timely fashion ensuring key information is available in an appropriate format for the audience providing additional information if required. This will include the production and regular review of high-level project and programme document. This role will attend operational meetings and work package meetings as appropriate. The role will also deputise, as required, for the Senior Programme Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent individual that has a knowledge of the UK Telecoms sector plus previous track record in Project Management at a Senior Level, and who possesses excellent event management and report writing capabilities.

This post is being offered on a part-time basis, with funding until the end of March 2025, it is the equivalent of 0.8 FTE
