About the Role
The School is seeking to appoint a Stores Manager to oversee the provision of support for three key operational areas; technical procurement, stores management and assisting in maintaining hazardous waste stores, ensuring a comprehensive facility for safe storage, procurement and handling of consumable items and equipment for use in research and teaching.
The role will provide procurement support to a vibrant, multidisciplinary School with a wide variety of teaching and research activities. Based in the Joseph Priestley Building, the Stores Manager will be responsible for providing a full range of Stores services to support teaching and research in all buildings SPCS is active in, to manage the operation of Stores to a high standard and to manage appropriate financial procedures and records.
About You
Candidates should have experience of working in a Stores/ laboratory environment at a higher level. The postholder will oversee and contribute to the provision of an outstanding store service to our staff and students; taking care to ensure that the goods are delivered in a professional manner, that the orders are correctly receipted and that all tasks are completed with an attention to detail.
You will also be required to have financial management experience to monitor and maintain the assigned annual budget for the Facility.
We are looking for an individual with a willingness to problem solve and initiate new and improved methods of service.

The School forms one of five within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and consists of two distinct research departments delivering world-leading research and high-class teaching: Chemistry and Physics and Astronomy.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date of May 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of Grade 4, £36,348 - £42,592 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
