Background
During the 2022/3 academic year there was a spit of the original School of Arts & Social Sciences to create two new Schools; the School of Communication and Creativity, consisting of Journalism, Performing Arts, Media, Culture and Creative Industries together with a new School of Policy and Global Affairs comprising of Economics, International Politics and Sociology & Criminology. This role will work across both Schools.
The Schools of Communication and Creativity & Policy and Global Affairs are internationally excellent centres of research and learning on the human condition in all its dimensions. Together they are large and vibrant schools with around 4,200 students and over 300 staff.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the School's Course Operations Manager & Senior Course Officers this post is responsible for the daily administration of allocated programmes including academic support, student and assessment administration.
You will have the responsibility for ensuring the provision of an efficient and professional service to students and academic staff, including the Academic Programme Directors, module leaders and senior tutors.
Person Specification
With a customer centred approach, you will have administrative experience in an office environment ideally within higher education. You will have excellent communication skills and exceptional organisational skill and will be able to work comfortably within a team as well as with minimal supervision.
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including experience of working with databases is essential. Experience with SITS/e:vision is desirable.
