The NRI Communications coordinator is the in-house focal point for NRI’s communications outreach work relating to its research, teaching and knowledge exchange activities and the achievements of NRI as a whole.

The post holder will raise awareness of NRI’s work by producing and synthesising key messages relating to natural and/or social sciences research and policy. The role includes managing the production of NRI publications and information products, contributing communications expertise to NRI’s projects, staff and partners and identifying new opportunities for outreach and communication.
The post requires excellent writing and editing skills, tailoring information for specific audiences, communicating research findings, lessons and achievements and consolidating these into policy relevant papers for publication.
Experience of working in a research, policy or tertiary education environment would be an advantage, as would a basic knowledge and understanding of international development issues and the political and social dimensions of communication.
