The Role
Northeastern University London wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor of Design. The appointee will be responsible for delivering Topics in Design HIstory (a first-year undergraduate course for visiting Northeastern University students) and for contributing to the on-going development of Design as a core component of a new Art & Design curriculum. Preference may be given to candidates with a background in design practice, and with a degree in Design and/or to candidates with active interests in the relationship of design to one or more of the following areas: software and/or technology; employment contexts; diversity and inclusion.

Department
Art History is institutionally housed within the Faculty of History at Northeastern University London. The department is entering into an ambitious new phase of development which will see Design become a core component of a new interdisciplinary degree programme, due to be launched in 2024. Excellent provision in Art & Design teaching, shaped by existing faculty strengths and elaborated in collaboration with colleagues across the Northeastern University global network, will offer students in London exciting new major and minor degree pathways. Design research methods and systems thinking as well as and digital competencies will feature prominently.
