The Role
This is an opportunity to join Kingston University’s Department of Architecture and Landscape as a Lecturer in Landscape Architecture. From this post, you will be an influential member of a close-knit group of academics behind a varied programme of research- and practice-led teaching, workshops, seminars and forward-thinking studies.
As module leader for the MLA Landscape Architecture and the MA Urban Design, you’ll coordinate a team of talented lecturers to design, manage and deliver a dynamic, relevant, and practice-informed curriculum for your students. You will take a leading role in the Landscape Technologies and Professional Practice modules, while also contributing to the Design Studios across both courses
As a leader, you will manage resources to enhance and continuously improve teaching content and experience, using a variety of technologies and approaches. You will consult with university staff to maintain quality assurances at the highest level; and will have the opportunity to work closely with students, guide them through their educational journey and ensure they receive support when needed.
Working side-by-side with talented colleagues you’ll share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy and/or academic research, disseminate research outputs in academic and other outlets, and pursue opportunities that will support students with their future careers wherever possible.
The Person
You will hold at minimum a postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture and/or Urbanism or a related subject and bring with you relevant experience from professional practice, as well as the potential and drive to assume further course leadership duties in the future. A CMLI status is required for this role, and a PhD in related topic / working towards a doctorate is desirable. A recognised teaching or learning qualification is desired upon appointment. If you haven’t already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we’ll need you to do so before the end of your probation period.
