The Department of Geography and Department of Urban Studies and Planning are seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant who will manage and deliver finance functions for both departments within the Finance hub team.
You will lead the administration of field classes for both UG and PGT programmes, ensuring best value for money is balanced against providing a high-quality student experience. Working closely with the Finance Officer and lead academics, as well as other professional staff within the team, to provide support and advice on funding for academic and research staff.
The Department of Geography and the Department of Urban Studies and Planning are co-located in one building. The workload split between the departments will be flexible depending on demands.
You will have experience in financial administration and knowledge of financial procedures and policies, gained either through relevant qualifications or relevant work experience. You will have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to prioritise and take responsibility for your own workload and act on your own initiative. You will also have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
