Do you have previous experience of working in an administrative or clerical role? Are you looking for a part-time role which puts to use your strong all round communication and customer service skills?

In this Student Support Assistant role within our International Programmes department, you will join a small and dedicated team providing a student-facing pastoral service to students whose personal problems might impact their studies or progress. Undertaking a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support the smooth running and efficiency of this area, you'll need a proactive approach and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

The post is part-time, 21 hours per week, for a fixed term until the end of July 2023. The working hours will ideally be worked over three days but there may be some flexibility and this will be discussed at interview stage.

As Student Support Assistant you can expect to get involved in:
• monitoring enquiries via email, telephone or in person, referring on where necessary
• assisting with the administration of the mitigating actions process
• keeping up to date records of student attendance and academic engagement, in liaison with the Programme Managers
• assisting the Student Support and Experience Officer and the wider team in relation to wellbeing events

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
• GCSE in English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
• excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a range of people at all levels
• a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• good IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office packages
