We are looking for two post-doctoral researchers to conduct original research in the field of chromosome pairing and segregation in mammalian meiosis.
The opportunity:
These post will investigate how physical connections are established and maintained between homologous chromosomes in mammalian spermatocytes and/or oocytes (Crichton et al, NSMB, 2023, DOI: 10.1038/s41594-022-00909-1; Reichmann et al, JCB, 2020, DOI: 10.1083/jcb.201702123). The post holders will contribute to existing projects in this area, using CRISPR/Cas9-based genetic manipulation technologies to generate transgenic mice, and super-resolution imaging of chromosomes to investigate mechanisms underlying meiotic chromosome pairing, recombination and segregation in mammals.
