Applications are invited for a Grants Officer (shared parental leave cover).
The successful applicant will hold a key role in the professional support team and, reporting to the Grants Manager, will be responsible for managing a portfolio of research groups. Taking responsibility for the whole research grant lifecycle from costing applications through monitoring live awards to the final reporting to funders the post-holder will ensure grants are administered in full accordance with University and funder rules.
You will act as the first point of contact providing advice to Principal Investigators working closely with colleagues in the Department’s HR and Finance teams.
This is a demanding role, requiring the ability to manage a large number of projects and deadlines concurrently, and would suit a self-directed individual with good organisational and planning skills who enjoys working proactively and as part of a team. You will be expected to deal confidently with senior academics and a wide range of external funders, and be able to build effective working relationships across the Department and the wider university.
The post-holder will be expected to keep abreast of developments in University policy and procedure, and to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the University including in particular in Research Services, Research Accounts and other relevant academic departments. A good general education and numeracy skills are essential, along with demonstrable experience of finance and/or research grants management and excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and particular expertise in Excel.
You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but there will be the opportunity for remote working. You will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
