We are looking to appoint a Research Institute Director to lead the Molecular & Clinical Sciences Research Institute (MCS). This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future of research at St. George’s. The Institute Director will provide research vision, inspiration, strategic leadership, and operational management for the Institute across the five Research Sections; Cardiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Neurosciences and Vascular Biology and will contribute personally to the Institute’s internationally competitive research in one or more of these areas.
Applicants will be a renowned academic with an excellent international track record of independent research in a relevant specialism. They should have extensive experience of leadership and successful strategy implementation within a research institution. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical or non-clinical professor, to develop a research Institute and grow the potential across a wide range of cutting-edge fundamental and clinical research areas as well as building their own research program.
Applicants would be appointed at the level of a tenured Professor. The Institute Director appointment is for 3 years in the first instance, renewable for a further term of 3 years. A support package will be tailored to the needs of the successful appointee.
