About us: Working in the School of Engineering, comprising a range of practice-led academic programmes, this post is a permanent appointment for teaching and supporting students in our Engineering programmes. You will join a growing and ambitious school that highly values integrating research and practice-led materials within teaching and learning.
Thus, the successful applicant will be expected to design and deliver engaging, innovative and responsive teaching, achieving outstanding student learning outcomes. The successful applicant will also actively engage in high-quality research, scholarly and/or practice activity that informs, extends and transforms their subject area and informs teaching.
About you: We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Thermofluids to join the School of Engineering at UWE Bristol. We are seeking someone with expertise in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics. In particular, we are looking for someone who can directly contribute to the School's ambitions in teaching and research, for example, teaching thermodynamics and fluid dynamics to undergraduates across all years and contributing to the research output of the Engineering Modelling and Simulation Group (EMSG). It is desirable that your research portfolio relates to emerging and sustainable technologies that contribute to the UK's net zero emissions target.
The successful applicant will have a postgraduate qualification in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or a related discipline. If from a professional practice/industry background, the successful applicant will have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with relevant professional experience within the Engineering Sector. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education are desirable. Experience of working in or collaborating with relevant industries is desirable, and there will be opportunities to work with the industry on knowledge exchange projects. We require particular expertise in sustainable technologies such as Hybrid and Electric vehicles.
Our lively Frenchay campus is easy to get to, with excellent road, rail and bus links. We also have a range of cycling and changing facilities, making it the ideal place to work for those commuting to Bristol.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links as well as being located near the motorway network, we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network, and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This is a permanent post and is full-time working on a 100% contract. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
