We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative, high performing academic to join the Faculty of Business, Computing and Digital Industries. The successful candidate will deliver innovative teaching as part of a growing Business School staff who are rapidly developing a quality student experience across a core undergraduate programme of study in Construction the Built Environment. We are looking for a candidate who can lead teaching and practice around core Construction Management area.
The successful candidate will have a portfolio of technical skills accompanied by an extensive knowledge of the theory and practical application of Construction Management and related fields.
We are looking for someone who, through their professional practice and innovative approaches to teaching, can inspire students in the Construction and the Built Environment subject area. They will be knowledgeable and curious about the latest industry developments, being quick to learn new tools and adapt their teaching in response to emerging trends.
The Faculty of Business, Computing and Digital Industries includes foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship provision as well as programmes delivered through UK and international partnership work. For this post, we're looking for a candidate with the ability to develop relationships with industry and proactively support the embedding of employer contributions into the curriculum.
We welcome applications from candidates who have a PhD (or who are close to completing their PhD) in Construction Management (or a closely related area of study) or who have an equivalent portfolio of experience working in the industries. Applicants should be active in research and/or knowledge exchange appropriate to the stage of their career, bringing with them a network of contacts and collaborations and the potential for income generation. Applicants with a professional qualification with a professional body (e. g. CIOB, APM, RICS) are welcome. The ability to work as an effective team member, contributing to the provision of high-quality teaching across all areas of provision is essential.
This role will initially be located at Leeds Trinity University campus Horsforth, Leeds, it is expected that you will be based in Leeds City Centre from September 2024. Through our agile working framework, there will be the option to spend some time working remotely to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
