This is a fixed term appointment for 3 years
This full-time position is to work with Dr Eleanor Power in the Department of Methodology on her Leverhulme-funded collaborative project on ‘Reputational poverty traps’ and the reproduction of social inequality in South Asia and the world. Two people will be hired to this position.
This post will involve conducting ethnographic fieldwork in South Asia (the particular location to be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and expertise, in consultation with Dr. Power). Alongside participant observation and interviews, the research officer will be expected to collect demographic and social network data. These will help set the stage for a series of experimental games to be played with community members, under the direction of another member of the research team. As this implies, a core part of this post will be collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of social scientists working with communities in South Asia and around the world.
The successful candidate will:
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
