The University is seeking a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Tourism (R&T track) within the School of Interdisciplinary Studies based in our Dumfries Campus.
The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with an established team of academics by contributing to teaching, assessment and administration processes associated with postgraduate programmes and to undertake research in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies’ Tourism subject area. The postholder will also make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School/College, through leading and contributing to research of international standard, high quality teaching at postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the School/College.
The postholder will actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding, and outreach. The post-holder will have a significant role in developing the School's Tourism offer. This currently consists of three PGT programmes including a joint MSc with the triple accredited Adam Smith Business School and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree. We are seeking candidates with a strong background and interests in some combination of the following in relation to Tourism: sustainable tourism development, events management, culture, heritage, policy and enterprise.
This post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and fixed term for a maximum of 5 years.
