Do you want to join a team responsible for providing a consistently high quality service across departments, schools and faculties of the University? Are you looking for a challenging new role within contract management?
The Procurement Services is part of the Finance division, and provides professional procurement services, support and advice to the University at all levels. The team of 27 oversees and influences the non-pay annual spend of approximately £500 million comprising of a range of operational and research funded goods, works and services.
The Role
As Contract Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of business-critical contracts across the organisation, with individual contracts ranging in value from £5m-£20m+. You will strategically manage relationships with key suppliers, review Terms and Conditions, manage Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreements, advise Heads of Department on best practice, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Overall, you will ensure that the University gets the best value out of its contracts.
Your Skills
You will be able to demonstrate experience of drafting and managing contracts in a public and/or private sector environment with experience of bespoke contract forms advantageous. With a track-record of successfully delivering complex procurement projects you will have a robust understanding of contract law and procurement related legislation. Excellent supplier negotiation and communication skills are essential. A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject is preferred with a legal qualification or full membership of CIPS / RICS desirable.
Although we are ideally looking for candidates with experience of NEC, JCT, Bluebook and bespoke contract forms with a track record of having delivered complex procurement projects, we would consider applications from candidates with limited relevant experience in these areas who are looking for a development opportunity.

This role would usually be based at Greenwich House, however the Finance Division is currently trialling hybrid working, with two days a week from Greenwich House. This arrangement is currently temporary.
