The Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Grants Administrator (part-time 0.5FTE).
The Institute is internationally renowned for its research into developmental biology and cancer and has been in existence for more than 30 years. With core funding from Wellcome and Cancer Research UK, the Institute is a friendly, vibrant and exciting place to work. There are around 250 people in its self-contained building, comprising 12 research group leaders, 200 scientific staff including PhD students, and 45 support staff.
In this role you will provide the Institute with excellent financial grants administrative support to maximise research income from a wide range of sources. You will be the primary contact within the Institute in relation to grant applications from external partners, sponsors, Research Group Leaders and the University.
Key responsibilities include coordinating the financial support process for grant applications, advising on costs, and ensuring applications are submitted in time, often to tight deadlines. You will also be responsible for providing budget forecasts of grant expenditure during the lifetime of the grants. We are seeking a highly motivated, organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Training will be provided on the University's grant costing tool and financial administration systems.
